- Reliability & Operations — SLA/SLO targets (web latency < 500ms, queue processing < 30s), incident response, root cause analysis
- Cloud Infrastructure — AWS (EKS, ECS, EC2, Lambda, RDS, OpenSearch, Route53, WAF, VPC)
- Cost Optimization — Reduced cloud costs by 83% migrating workloads from Lambda to Kubernetes
- CI/CD & Automation — Self-hosted GitHub Actions runners, reducing pipeline from hours to ~15 minutes
- Security & Access — IAM Identity Center, Keycloak on Kubernetes, secrets management
- Observability — CloudWatch, OpenSearch, operational dashboards and alerting
Background
Cape Verdean, born on the island of Sao Vicente. Bachelor’s in Energy Engineering from UFSC and Master’s in Computer Science from UFPel, with research in Learning Analytics and distributed systems.
My path combines engineering, computing, and infrastructure — from academic research on data platforms to operating high-availability distributed systems in production.
